Born to play jazz!
Francois Rioux is a jazz guitarist born and raised in the fabulous Quebec City. Amongst his achievements he won the 1st place with his band Jazz Culture Club on two jazz contests including the Montreal Vandoren "Jazz en rafale" competition in which he presented his compositions.
During the 400th anniversary festivities of Quebec City, Francois was given the chance to be the soloist guitarist in the Olivier Dufour super production "Les chemins qui marchent".
Francois also had the chance to play with Django’s grand son David Reinhardt in a special concert and recently recorded the latest Lost Fingers album with the infamous John Jorgenson, famous for his work with Elton John and Barbara Streisand.
Francois is a very busy musician and arranger and is active on the Jazz scene and works in many corporate events. He is currently touring with TLF around the world and can be seen playing in the United States, Russia, Greece, Spain, Turkey and Lithuania. Francois is planning to join back university to complete a doctorate in jazz interpretation with Jonathan Kreisberg and Ari Hoenig.
Francois is a huge basketball fan and lives and dies with the L.A Lakers …
